Oregon Mozart Players: Miraculous Miniatures

Location: Soreng Theater

Presented by Oregon Mozart Players

Oregon Mozart Players at the Hult CenterThis concert proves that great things can come in both large and small packages. We open with Ottorino Respighi's Trittico Botticelliano (Three Botticelli Pictures), a suite of three short works, each based on a famous painting by Renaissance painter Botticelli. The first half concludes with Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 14 in Eb Major, featuring pianist John Musto. This is the first of Mozart's mature piano concertos and is often considered to have been among his best. Husband and wife team, pianist/composer John Musto and soprano Amy Burton, finish the concert with the world premiere of Quiet Songs. OMP commissioned this orchestration of the song cycle, originally written for piano and soprano.
