Celebrating Hult 25
Another Evening of Memories:
Resident Companies In Concert

Celebrate with Us! Dress up, you won’t be alone!

Eugene, Oregon, September 5, 2007 — The big celebration is just around the corner as September 2007 marks the 25th anniversary of the Hult Center’s opening.  The celebration is specifically designed to recognize the contribution that the citizens of Eugene made to turn the dream of a performing arts center into a reality.  The weekend of September 28-29 is packed with exciting and first-time-ever events.  Another Evening of Memories: Resident Companies In Concert is THE highlight event of the festivities.

In celebration of an extraordinary twenty-five years, the City of Eugene, the Hult Center for the Performing Arts and the eight Resident Companies of the Hult Center come together for a special evening of memories.  A gift to the community, Resident Companies In Concert is a once-in-a-lifetime, free performance that features outstanding pieces by the Eugene Ballet Company, Eugene Concert Choir, Eugene Opera, Eugene Symphony, Oregon Bach Festival, Oregon Mozart Players, The Shedd Institute, and the Willamette Repertory Theatre.   Laura Niles, Interim Cultural Services Director says:  “In my 25 years at the Hult Center, there has never been a more exciting event.  All of the wonderful eight Resident Companies on one stage in one evening. What a treat for the community!  It’ll be an evening to remember, just like Marilyn Horne on Opening Night in 1982!”

Prior to the performance in the glorious Silva Concert Hall, an invitation-only gala dinner takes place at the Hilton Hotel to honor the arts in our community.

Paul Winberg, Executive Director, Eugene Symphony Association and Resident Company representative on the Cultural Services Advisory Committee says: “It is a great honor for all of the eight Resident Companies to bring our artists together for this special night to thank our community and celebrate their support of the arts at the Hult Center for the past 25 years.  And we are excited about the next 25! ”
